David Heins – Fundraising Committee

David Heins

Born and raised in Michigan, David attended and graduated from Cass City High School. During his Sophomore year he was selected by the Rotary District and Cass City Rotary Club to participate in their Rotary Youth Exchange Program and spent his Junior year living in Newcastle, Australia. Here he excelled in sports such as Rugby, Lifeguarding Competitions, Basketball and learned how to surf. Returning for his Senior year at CCHS he continued his passion for all sports and was additionally involved with his Church Youth Program, Class Secretary, school play and a member of The National Honor Society again. Cass City Chamber of Commerce name him Co-Junior Citizen of the Year for all his community involvement that year.

Attending and graduating from Central Michigan University on an Academic Scholarship, he became involved with numerous community and fundraising activities during those four years. David also served on multiple Student Hall Government’s and was a Resident Assistant at Troutman Hall.

Having his BS in Business Management (Hospitality) he found his way to the Washington DC and NJ/NYC areas and was opening and managing restaurants. This eventually led to him working at Tavern on the Green (Maître’d) and Maxim’s on Madison Avenue (Maître’d and Capitan of Private Parties).

Working in the Information Technology Industry with EMC and Sungard allowed David to move his family to Montgomery County in 2007. This permitted him to immerse himself once again in community service. He has served on Board’s and Fund-Raising Committees with organizations such as: Alpha Resource Center, Cradles to Crayons, Montgomery Elementary School, Montgomery County Community College, The Chamber for Greater Montgomery County and Blue Bell Rotary Club (BBRC).

It is with BBRC that he has had the most impact. Serving as Committee Chair multiple years for BBRC’s Golfing Extravaganza and on other committee’s such as: BBRC’s Pancake Breakfast for Second Responders and BBRC’s Chef of the Burbs. David was awarded the Service Above Self for Rotary Year, 2014-15 and was BBRC’s President Rotary Year, 2016-17.

Since 2011 David has been working in the Financial Industry; the last 11 years as a Senior Loan Officer with Mortgage Network/Movement Mortgage and loves his job!

He continues to stay active by biking, skiing, hiking, golfing, catching waves in LBI, reading and cooking in his spare time. His love for his son, Davison and Daughter, Kylin (current student at James Madison University) is un-measurable!
